1-1 Support for Children
-
Does your Child struggle with anxiety, low mood, lack of confidence or find social situations challenging?
-
Has your Child experienced a traumatic life event that impacts on their daily life?
-
Is your Child finding it difficult to cope with recent changes or pressures in their home, school, or social environment?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then Kangaroo Family Nurturing can help.

Around 1 in 6 children aged 5–16 have a diagnosable mental health condition.
In recent years, increasing numbers of children and young people are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulties in social situations, and self-harming behaviours. The pressures and challenges they face—at home, in school, and socially—can feel overwhelming.
Getting support as early as possible is crucial.
Emotions are complex, and it can be hard to make sense of how we feel. While adults often have the words to express their thoughts and emotions, children may not yet have the understanding, vocabulary, or cognitive skills to do the same. Instead, they may communicate their distress through challenging or concerning behaviours.
Play is a child’s natural language.
At Kangaroo Family Nurturing, we use Play and Creative Arts to enter the child’s world—supporting them to explore and express mixed-up feelings and difficult life events at their own pace and level of understanding. This therapeutic approach can lead to positive outcomes such as:
-
Feeling happier and more settled
-
Reduced anxiety
-
Improved self-esteem
-
Stronger relationships with family and peers
-
Positive changes in behaviour.
We also support parents and carers.
We help you gain a deeper understanding of your child’s emotional world and equip you with practical strategies to support them through this challenging time.
